Privacy

Last updated July 11, 2026

TypeLume is designed to work without an account. Your typed test, scores, preferences, personal bests, recent results, and daily streak do not need to be sent to a TypeLume game server.

Information stored on your device

TypeLume uses browser local storage to remember settings, recent scores, personal bests, and the daily-challenge streak. This information remains in the browser profile where it was created. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser.

Information the game does not request

The initial version does not provide user accounts, forms, uploads, comments, or a global leaderboard. It does not ask for a name, email address, phone number, precise location, payment information, or the contents of the typing test.

Hosting and security data

Like most websites, the hosting and security infrastructure may process routine technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, request time, browser type, requested URL, and security events. That processing is controlled by the applicable hosting provider and its policies.

Advertising and cookies

TypeLume uses Google AdSense to support the free service. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, device information, IP address, and activity data to deliver, measure, personalize, and protect ads where permitted. Required consent choices will be presented before applicable advertising storage is used. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services on Google's partner-sites information page.

Your choices

You can use private-browsing mode, block browser storage, clear TypeLume site data, or use browser and consent controls for advertising. Blocking local storage can prevent personal bests and preferences from persisting, but the basic test should continue to work.

Children's privacy

TypeLume is a general-audience practice tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the game. A school or parent should review its own privacy obligations before directing students to any ad-supported version.

Changes

This policy will be updated before materially new data collection, accounts, analytics, advertising partners, or other persistent services are introduced. The date at the top will change when the policy changes.
